Tomi Um is a Korean-American illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York and Helsinki, Finland. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, she worked as a textile designer in the Garment District, eventually beginning her decade-long career as an illustrator. Tomi illustrates life’s quandaries in all sorts of situations in the Ethicist column for The New York Times. Her work is also known for the viral Casper Mattress ads in the New York City subway. Currently, Tomi is at work on a children’s picture book.
